Woe, woe to the makers of food and drink that add unhealthy chemicals that prolong the product's life or cause people to want the product unnaturally at the expense of their health. All deaths directly attributed to their dereliction are charged to their account, and they will suffer for eternity.
Woe, woe to lawmakers, lobbyists, company executives, and wealthy business people that pay them; the deaths of street people and any who die from laws that do not protect them will be on their heads. The innocent blood will be on their hands. Their punishment will be sure and harsh. Woe, woe to lawmakers who allow drugs and procedures that harm; or delay medicines and procedures that save lives and the lobbyists that direct their paths. All the deaths will be on your heads, and the innocent blood will be on your hands. Your place in hell is secure. Woe, woe to gun lobbyists who, for greed, lobby against gun laws that would protect the most innocent children in school and the lawmakers that listen to their tripe. Rationalize as you may, but know - hell is where you belong.
The Signs of the Times: A Global Reckoning
From the Bolivia floods displacing 370,000 families to record-breaking droughts across Southern Africa and Central America, the earth itself seems to be in upheaval. Epidemics, heat waves, wildfires, and collapsing ecosystems have become the new normal. These events are not just environmental—they’re existential.
Droughts are draining life from the land, crippling agriculture and triggering famine.
Floods are sweeping away homes, infrastructure, and livelihoods.
Epidemics are exposing the fragility of our health systems and social cohesion.
Earthquakes strike without warning, reminding us how little control we truly have.
And yet, amid this global turbulence, the spiritual question remains largely unasked: What is God saying to us?
Throughout Scripture, natural disasters often serve as divine wake-up calls—not necessarily punishments, but invitations to repentance, reflection, and realignment .
1. A Call to Humility Modern civilization has built towers of pride—economic empires, technological marvels, and political ideologies—often without acknowledging the Creator. These disasters strip away illusions of control and invite us to remember our dependence on God .
2. A Call to Justice The poor suffer most in these crises. When drought hits, it's the subsistence farmer who starves. When floods come, it's the slum dweller who loses everything. These events expose systemic injustice and call leaders to account.
3. A Call to Repentance Just as ancient Israel was warned through famine and plague, today’s world is being summoned to turn from idolatry—be it greed, nationalism, or apathy—and return to righteousness.
🔥 Why So Few Are Listening
Comfort dulls urgency: In wealthier nations, disasters are buffered by insurance and infrastructure, muting the spiritual alarm.
Secularism silences the sacred: Many interpret these events only through scientific or economic lenses, ignoring their moral and spiritual dimensions.
False prophets soothe the masses: Just as in Jeremiah’s day, many voices preach optimism without repentance, prosperity without accountability.
🌿 What Might God Be Saying?
“Return to Me with all your heart, with fasting, with weeping, and with mourning.” —Joel 2:12
God may be saying:
“You have polluted the earth; now see its groaning.”
“You have neglected the poor; now feel the consequences.”
"You have dealt injustice; now feel My justice."
“You have silenced My voice; now hear the roar of creation.”
🌿 The Hope Within the Storm.
Even now, God’s message is not only judgment—it is mercy. Every disaster is also an opportunity:
To rebuild with justice.
To lead with humility.
To seek truth beyond convenience.
To awaken spiritually before it’s too late.
